Your provider will review your complete health history during your initial appointment to determine if MAT is the right fit for your personal recovery goals.
Addiction Treatment Options and Care at MaVie
-
MAT is a comprehensive treatment approach that combines medication with behavioral therapies to help individuals with substance use disorders manage cravings, reduce withdrawal symptoms, and improve overall functioning.
-
Yes. MAT medications work by reducing cravings, preventing withdrawal symptoms, and helping individuals to stay in treatment. They are not addictive in the same way as the substances they treat.
MAT is widely recognized by major health organizations—including SAMHSA, NIDA, and the CDC—as the gold standard and most effective treatment for substance use disorders. Rather than "trading one addiction for another," MAT normalizes brain chemistry, blocks the euphoric effects of alcohol or opioids, and eliminates severe cravings so you can focus on long-term recovery.
Key Evidence & Statistics:
· Cuts Overdose Risk in Half: Research demonstrates that medications like buprenorphine and methadone reduce all-cause mortality and opioid-related overdose deaths by approximately 50%.
· Dramatically Increases Retention: Patients receiving MAT are significantly more likely to stay in treatment programs compared to non-medication or detoxification-only approaches.
· Higher retention is directly linked to sustained recovery.
· Reduces Relapse & Craving Rates: Clinical studies show that combining medications with counseling leads to a 60% reduction in relapse rates within the first year of treatment compared to therapy alone.
· Improves Everyday Life: MAT reduces illegal drug use, lowers criminal activity related to substance use, and decreases the transmission of infectious diseases (such as HIV and Hepatitis C) by reducing high-risk behaviors.
· Severe Underutilization: Despite its proven clinical success, national CDC and SAMHSA data show that fewer than 1 in 4 adults who need treatment for opioid use disorder currently receive MAT, largely due to lingering stigma and access barriers.
When paired with counseling and ongoing behavioral support, MAT provides a stable, scientifically backed foundation for rebuilding your life.
-
Opioid Use Disorder (OUD): Individuals struggling with dependence on prescription painkillers, heroin, and fentanyl.
Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD): Those looking for structured support to reduce or quit alcohol use safely.
Other Substance Use Disorders: MAT can also be part of a comprehensive care plan for various other substance dependencies, such as kratom. With the DEA officially moving to place 7-OH kratom extracts onto Schedule I, MaVie is prepared to provide treatment for the withdrawal of the 7-OH kratom extract.
-
We utilize FDA-approved medications tailored to your specific needs, substance history, and health profile. MAT is commonly prescribed for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD):
Opioid Use Disorder (OUD):
· Buprenorphine / Suboxone® (Buprenorphine + Naloxone): Reduces opioid cravings and suppresses withdrawal symptoms without producing a "high," allowing you to feel normal and function safely in daily life.
Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD):
· Acamprosate (Campral®): Helps restore chemical balance in the brain for individuals who have already stopped drinking.
· Disulfiram (Antabuse®): discourages alcohol consumption by producing uncomfortable physical reactions if alcohol is ingested.
During your initial consultation, your provider will discuss your medical history and goals to determine the safest, most effective medication for your recovery plan.
-
The frequency of your appointments depends on where you are in your recovery journey. Your treatment schedule adjusts over time as you build stability and achieve your goals.
-
Yes, MaVie treats pregnant women who are living with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Their licensed medical professionals work closely with expectant mothers to create safe, individualized treatment plans—such as Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)—tailored to protect both mother and child. Seeking help while pregnant is one of the most powerful, loving decisions you can make for yourself and your baby. You deserve compassionate, non-judgmental care every step of the way.
Why Receiving Treatment During Pregnancy is Essential?
· Sudden Detox is Unsafe: Quitting opioids abruptly "cold turkey" during pregnancy poses serious risks to your fetus, including preterm labor, fetal distress, or miscarriage.
· Medical supervision ensures stabilization rather than harsh physical shock.
· MOUD is the Gold Standard: Medications like buprenorphine (Suboxone) stabilize opioid levels in the body. They prevent severe withdrawal symptoms and eliminate cravings without producing a high, dramatically reducing the risk of relapse or fatal overdose.
· Promotes a Healthier Pregnancy: Engaging in structured treatment connects you with essential prenatal care, leading to higher birth weights, fewer delivery complications, and a significantly safer environment for your developing baby.
· Manageable Newborn Care: While infants exposed to MOUD in the womb may experience mild, temporary withdrawal symptoms after birth (Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome), medical teams can safely monitor and treat these symptoms—making MOUD far safer than active, unmonitored opioid use.
If you or someone you know is pregnant and struggling with opioid use, please reach out to a healthcare provider or a dedicated clinic like MaVie to start a confidential conversation. Taking that first step ensures you don't have to walk this path alone.

Behavioral Health Services and Long-Term Support
-
Yes, we do.
-
Family support is not offered as a standalone program at MaVie, as services are focused exclusively on individuals receiving Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment.
However, family involvement can be integrated into care when appropriate. If a patient is enrolled in behavioral treatment alongside MOUD, the patient and their therapist can decide together if including family members in a therapy session would support the patient's recovery goals.
-
Yes, that would be with our behavioral health services
-
Yes, MaVie supports long-term recovery. Long-term success is at the core of the care model, and every patient’s treatment plan is individually tailored to meet their unique needs, goals, and lifestyle.
-
At your initial visit and on an ongoing basis, you and your therapist will determine how often you need to attend therapy. Because every recovery journey is unique, your appointment frequency is tailored to your specific clinical needs and updated as you progress through treatment.
